Quote of the Day

.
The Playlist talked to Zero Dark Thirty and Lawless actor Jason Clarke about Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby, and here's what he had to say about why we oughta be excited to see Baz do 3D:

"The furniture and everything is built for 3D. That's the level he's coming at you with. The tables are longer at an angle for 3D. The dresses are designed so they'll come out. Not only is she [Catherine Martin, Luhrmann's production designer and wife] detailed in making them but also she's detailed in making them in 3D. You'll see."

I will see! As long as the world's still here come May. I feel like I'm the only person who actually liked the movie's trailer - a lot of people seem to be clamoring for this to be a train-wreck, what with the push out of Oscar season to next year and all. GG's been my favorite book for twenty years and I'm not the biggest Leo fan so I ought to be terrified, and yet here I am, totally salivating to get my eyeballs on it all the same.

I'm intrigued by the visuals, but I'm a little worried Baz may have taken the great American novel and made a movie about chandeliers.
