Which Is Hotter?

.
.
.
I can't believe I'd never known until this past weekend that the actor who played Hans in Freaks ("I'm a man! Like other men!") was also one of The Munchkins in The Wizard of Oz. His name's Harry Earles, and it wasn't even him who clued me in - I was watching Oz and I first recognized the actress who played his spurned girlfriend Frieda in Freaks as one of the Munchkins and I looked her up and sure enough, there they both were. Turns out they were brother and sister - her name is Daisy Earles. (She was often billed as "The Midget Mae West"!!!)

I can't remember if they kiss in Freaks or not, can anybody? Let's hope not. Anyway there were two more female siblings in their little (ugh, sorry) troupe - Hilda and Elly - and they spent most of their performing lives not as actors but working in the circus, unsurprisingly.

They were known as The Doll Family, and they all had nicknames accordingly (Elly was known as Tiny Doll, for instance). Earles wasn't even their real last name - they took that from their benefactor. Here's a cool factoid via Wiki:

"Harry and Daisy were cast in major roles in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's 1932 film Freaks, while Tiny had a small bit part. In fact it was Harry himself who brought to Tod Browning's attention the Tod Robbins story "Spurs" on which the film was based. "
.
So there'd have been no Freaks without Harry!

Another cool fact is that Freaks the movie would never have existed if it hadn't been for Harry Earles!
