(via) From what I can figure this is a behind-the-scenes shot from this famous picture that Herb Ritts took of Richard Gere in 1982:
But I can't really find much of anything to confirm that except that the Tumblr where I found this picture tags it with Herb Ritts, so who knows. The bricks are the same, and the white seats with the black towels... and Gere does appear to be wearing a white speedo in the official picture, too. But it's hard to tell. Anyway whatever the case, I'm dizzy. So while I go stick my head in the ice-box for awhile here's 11 more pics of vintage Gere to keep y'all occupied after the jump:

I've never seen American Gigilo but Kevin Costner and Richard Gere have one thing in common, both hot back in the 70's or 80's, especially Kostner. JA, is that main banner from Mermaids?
No it's from Halloween III, John - but I totally remember the part in Mermaids you're thinking of.
It's weird how my memory works JA. I can remember getting Halloween on VHS used back in the early 90's and watching it for many years and the movie and that music is still creepy today.
