Jeffrey Wright, a very fine actor indeed, has joined the cast of the second Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire, as the character called Beetee. I've seen some people complaining that he's not how they pictured Beetee, but it's been too long since I read the books, I can't conjure up any visual for how I'd pictured Beetee to look, so he's fine by me. Also, there's that "very fine actor" bit, which is also important.

Was I even paying attention when I read this book? Beetee? Who?
I remembered his name and the fact that he was one of the previously winning Tributes that gets tossed back into the Quarter Quell to fight a second time, but not what he did, so I had to look him up. He's partners with Wiress (who Amanda Plummer is playing), and he's good with electronics doodads... yadda yadda.
Basically, people complain every time anyone not white is cast in these movies.
