Today's Fanboy Delusion

Today I'd rather be...

... going ten rounds with John Payne.

Bring on the Payne! I have a new favorite place to visit, you guys - I just spent twenty minutes wandering through this Flickr group and it's well worth your time. Lots of shots of old Hollywood fellows without their clothes on that I hadn't seen before, including these shots of good ol' Johnny. Hit the jump for several more.
.

That's Payne with Ronald Reagan in that last shot - they were good friends, and Payne was a big time Republican. You see? I'm willing to reach across the aisle to make compromise. As long as they're willing to reacharound back.

He was quite the looker when he was young and in almost all his movies, excepting Miracle on 34th Street, he seemed to develop a shirt allergy at some point and that was always a good thing.

I've thought John Payne was close to perfect, especially during the '40s and early '50s. His handsome face, his glistening hair, and his v-shaped muscular body helped to make him popular, yet he could even act (Razor's Edge, Miracle on 34th Street). No need to say more.
