Tis The Season For Suffy

.
The great and largely absentee-of-late Sufjan Stevens might be on the verge of doing something the rest of us not cool enough to hang out with him in Brooklyn will get to see - Pitchfork reports that he's started up a Tumblr and the first thing he posted was a gif from everybody's favorite serial killing Santa Claus movie Silent Night Deadly Night. (If this is a wedding proposal - I do, Suffy. I do.)

Pitchfork is making the (admittedly tiny) leap to assuming he will maybe be putting out some more Christmas music soon. You should all be aware that he's released scads - positively scads! - of Christmas music before, all of which was gathered up into a tremendously impressive boxed-set that you can buy here and should buy there if you haven't already got it and listened to it for the past several Decembers on repeat.

Hard to believe it but it's been just about two full years since The Age of Adz, his last album, wholly terrific, came out. I saw him several times in concert following its release but it's been awhile since we've heard much of anything from King Suffy. He did some international shows of a composition he made along with Bryce Dressner of The National and the composer Nico Muhly last year (pictured above), and he's doing a talk of sorts at the Guggenheim here in NYC next Sunday with a ballet dancer who's created a ballet involving Sufjan's music; the show's sold out (boo) but they will be live-streaming it online at least.

All that's great and all, but I need to be fed, Sufjan.
