Rob James-Collier, And Friend, One Time

.
My apologies to Lady Edith, but I had to erase her (actress Laura Carmichael) from the original version of this picture because she was distracting from the gay too much, but you can see the original picture at that link. (Poor Lady Edith, always being pushed aside.) The picture's apparently in the same magazine shoot that includes this swoon-induing shot of Rob (currently my Twitter background!), which has just come out or something. (As if I've touched a paper magazine in years.) Anyway who else saw the first episode of the third season of Downton Abbey last night? Anybody?

Totally looks like him, right? I'm pretty sure it's just a model though.

No reason you should remember, but in a comment I posted to you at the end of last season, I criticized DA's increasing soapiness by writing that I expected Bates' evil twin to show up any minute. So I was sort of amused when, in the first episode of the new season, the cook made an anachronistic reference to an "evil twin". That was before another character made anachronistic use of the word "scenario", and after yet another character made anachronistic and incorrect use of the word "hopefully".

I'm usually not this much of a nitpicker, but DA has definitely lost its charm for me. I'll still watch it for the sets, and the clothes, and Maggie Smith, but it has become v difficult to ignore the absurd plot twists.

The Guardian's spoiler-filled review is pretty close to my own opinion of the show.
