--- Mother's Man - Unless you're some kind of savant it's nigh impossible to keep up with everything Guillermo Del Toro's got his fingers in (eww) so you 'll excuse me for having forgotten about the existence of Mama, a horror film starring Jessica Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau which he produced. The first still and a plot synopsis can be found over at BD.

--- Film Canned - The critical duo over at the NYT take on what digital is doing and has done to the movies - that is, The Movies - in a fascinating back and forth that left me stranded somewhere in the middle. Mostly it just reminded me to go grab my tickets for The Master in 70mm next weekend though.

--- Outback Backed - Hey hey here's some pretty damn cool news - Shock has word that Greg McLean's Wolf Creek 2 is a go at last! I'm too lazy to look up how long ago we first heard that McLean wanted to make a sequel to his 2005 horror masterpiece, but it was a damn long time ago. A company finally came through with financing, so they should start rolling soon. By the way be careful if you click over on that link, they give a synopsis that spells things out a little too much.

--- Go Ask Amy - Since I have my own ticket already I can tell you about this (always looking out for number one first, yo): you should totally go and see this screening of the classic afterschool-special-ish TV movie Go Ask Alice at 92YTribeca next week - Amy Sedaris will be there to talk about it (I haven't seen it but it sounds straight out of the Jerri Blank playbook), as will its lead actress Jamie Jackson! It's hosted by friend-of-MNPP Tom Blunt, who's done so much for us already with his "Meet the Lady!" series.

--- End's Beginning - Hey look they're starting to cast people other than Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in Edgar Wright's The World's End, namely the terrific Paddy Considine. He was also in Hot Fuzz.

--- They're Dreaming - Hey look here's the second trailer for Cloud Atlas, because that first one that was approximately thirty hours long just wasn't enough. The Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer are screening this movie at The New Yorker Fest next month but tickets are FIFTY DOLLARS EACH and screw that noise.

--- Home Again - My bud Sean is going to be recapping the second season of the glorious program Homeland for Rolling Stone and in order to catch himself up he's writing up his thoughts on the first season at his site. Here's the first one. This will be necesarry because I flew through the first season in such a rush I've kind of forgotten what happened by now. Anyway I am foaming at the mouth for the show to start up. Foaming!

--- Firth Things Firth - Slash has a pair of character posters and six whole seconds (!) of footage from the upcoming Coens-scripted remake of the 1966 comic caper Gambit, which stars Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz, and the only reason I'm posting thius is because those six seconds mainly consist of Colin Firth wearing a suit without any pants on, as seen there to the right, and in a post-Single Man world that is something I've got a lot of interest in seeing.

--- Post Headless - I've been shite about keeping up with Argentinian director Lucrecia Martel who made the absolutely masterful 2009 film The Headless Woman, which was my 3rd favorite movie of that year, but I think that's just because there hasn't been any news to keep up with. until now - DH has the details on her next film, an adaptation of an "existential historical" novel called Zama.
