My Gary Cooper crush shows no signs of slowing down - it's all acceleration in Coopsville. I watched his 1931 flick City Streets yesterday (the above shot is not from it, but I did post a couple of handsome glances at him from that movie at the Tumblr) - it's imperative that I get my eyes on all of his early movies most of all, before the drink prematurely aged him. The stuff from the 20s and 30s is what I want slash need; unfortunately that's the hardest to come by.
(more pics here) Anybody seen City Streets? It's pretty standard gangster stuff for its time but Coop's his ever-always charming self and Sylvia Sidney is a pip. It always weirds me out when I see her gorgeous young self to then remember her decidedly not young self blowing smoke out of her neck in Beetlejuice. Time, y'all!

Love Sylvia when she was young and love her when she was old but man it's like watching two different people so much had her looks changed through heavy smoking. Read a couple interviews she gave, completely candid, blunt and marvelous!
