Eric Bana being on my mind, it being his birthday and all, I just realized I'd never pointed out a possible inaccuracy on my part that's been bugging me, so let's do that. When I reviewed Joe Wright's
Hanna way back when
I mentioned in the comments therein that I was convinced that the subway station where Bana has his big fight scene had to just had to be the same location where the ending of Rainer Werner Fassbinder's
Fox and His Friends was filmed. Hanna had enough scattershot riffing on RWF's movies - everything having to do with Tom Hollander - that I was convinced.

Well looking at them side by side finally... no? Notsomuch? Both films were shot in Berlin, so it could just be a similarity to how the Berlin train stations look in general that I'm sensing. I mean I suppose they could've repainted and/or re-tiled everything and hung up new light fixtures in the thirty-five years separating the films. I don't know why it seemed so clear and obvious to me at the time, though. And I know this is something that occurred to
literally no one else on Earth and therefore
literally no one else on Earth gives a damn about any of this, but hey, this blog is written by literally the one person on Earth who did give a damn, so there. Mystery not at all solved!

it's just a similarity. they're two different stations. the orange one from hanna isn't even a station, it's just a subterranean pathway that connects the bus station with other buildings under the streets. i don't know in which station fox and his friends was shot, but it's definitely not the same one.
I love this post - I'm all for ridiculously specific obsessions. For a few minutes, you succeeded in making one other person, at leat, give half a damn.
I can not figure out which station that Fassbender one is from. The pathway is by the Funkturm, but man that blue one surely looks familiar.
I think that scene from Fox and His Friends/Faustrecht der Freiheit wasn't shot in Berlin, but in Munich, on U-Bahnhof Marienplatz, see: http://www.muenchnerubahn.de/bild/gross/mp_querbahnsteig_gleis1.jpg. Sean and Anon are right about the pathway in Hanna, that's near the Funkturm. A lot of Berlin subway stations look like bathrooms from the 70s.
