RIP Susanne Lothar

.

Well this is terrible news - apparently German actress Susanne Lothar died today at the far far too young age of 51. She's best known for working with my favorite director Michael Haneke in the original Funny Games, pictured above, as well as smaller roles in The White Ribbon (she was the woman in the abusive relationship) and The Piano Teacher (she was the mother of the girl who gets glass in her coat pocket). Lothar was married to her Games husband Ulrich Mühe, who also died far too young at the age of 54 just five years ago. Not sure what she died of; she left behind a son and a daughter and a step-daughter. She has a role in Joe Wright's upcoming Anna Karenina; that will probably be the last time I see her. Sad, sad, sad.
