RIP Ray Bradbury

.

I can't even pretend to be able to write up a proper obituary for the writer Ray Bradbury because there is so much of his I still have to read. I've taken his work for granted, knowing it will always be there and I'll always want to read it, so why not take my time and savor it? I've never even read The Martian Chronicles, for goodness sake. But the things I have read - tons of his short stories, Fahrenheit 451, Something Wicked This Way Comes, many others - I have cherished, and I look forward to cherishing the rest. The world wouldn't be half as interesting a place if he hadn't been in it.

Sorry to hear of his passing, Not a big sci-fi fan but always loved Farenheit 451 both the book and the Julie Christie movie.

How can we lose both Maurice Sendak and Ray Bradbury in the same year? *sigh*

Short story collection, The October Country, is my favorite from Bradbury. "Skeleton" and "The Scythe" in particular. Gave me intense nightmares and existential thoughts when I was 8.
