After the Avengers' box office triumph, I'm sure if they go to Sony and negotiate a deal, Sony would be very happen to (a) promote Amazing Spider-Man 2 in the best why possible and (b) to share in the financial juggernaut that will be Avengers 2.
This what comicbook fans want, this what movie fans want. They really should at least give it a thought even if it's just a cameo.
