Quote of the Day

.

EW chatted with MNPP hero Bryan Fuller about his oncoming Hannibal "The Cannibal' Lecter TV show called Hannibal, which will detail the relationship between FBI agent Will Graham (played by MNPP lust object Hugh Dancy) and the good doctor (not yet cast). He talks about how we'll be meeting the characters at a point in time earlier than we've seem them realized on-screen so far (the main conceit is based on a small chunk of backstory that author Thomas Harris gave the duo in Red Dragon), and says:

"It really is a love story, for lack of a better description, between these two characters. As Hannibal has said [to Graham] in a couple of the movies, ‘You’re a lot more like me than you realize.’ We’ll get to the bottom of exactly what that means over the course of the first two seasons. But we’re taking our sweet precious time.”

That is to say, Bryan lets on that he sold the show to NBC on the basis of a seven season arc (!!!) based on stories from Harris' books, with thirteen episodes per season like they do it on cable. Read the whole chat here for more details. I am going to go home and make room on my shelves for seven seasons worth of DVDs right now! Or I guess by that time it will be "the future" and we won't use DVDs anymore, so instead I guess I'll go home tonight and erase a portion of my brain matter, some good ol' fashioned self-trepanation, and make space in there for the DCD (digital cortex download) we'll all be using then. A sound idea! Lecter approved and tested, too.
