He's Really Doing It

It was 2007 when we first heard that somebody was thinking of remaking Dario Argento's classic "Witches love to dance!" horror film Suspiria. That made us crazy. Then in 2008 we heard that it could be David Gordon Green of all people helming the remake, and that made us crazier, because that was something we could probably be excited about, maybe? If only because of the WTF factor. I mean we love DGG (for the most part - we still haven't seen The Sitter) but this is WTF.

Well after all this time it looks like it's really happening. He has financing and it shoots in September. At one point Natalie Portman was going to do it but she went off and made Black Swan and won an Oscar and this will probably be too similar. Although we do know it's going to be set in a boarding school now and not a dance academy, so who knows? He has the rights to the seminal score by Goblin and has talked about reworking it. Anyway... yeah. Yeah? Yeah.

Nah, don't remake it, no point. How could you make it any better than the original? Also don't remake Rosemary's Baby. In perpetuity I say this.

Part of me thinks it could be fine since it's not like Dario is doing anything worth it. But another part of me thinks...couldn't they just remake Mother of Tears so it actually fits?

As far as casting goes, there is a nice pool of talented young actresses forming. As long as Lily Collins doesn't get it.
