hard choice, but i've voted for jessica in "the help".
the girl is so delicious! beyond words. she's cute as a button, sexy as hell, ethereal, elegant and so beautiful, of course. and on top of that, damn, she can act.

I love her in The Help (besides the always incredible Viola Davis her and Bryce Dallas Howard were my faves in that movie, which generally I was not a big fan of) but I LOVED HER in Take Shelter and the only reason she didn't make my as-of-yet unfinished top 20 performances is the list was turning into 20 actress performances and I needed to split it as much as I could between men and women. It's still lopsided towards female performances, of which I think there were an amazing amazing array of this year. Anyway Take Shelter wins for me but I can't argue with people picking Celia.

Let me add that I think Bryce Dallas Howard should only be allowed to play bitches from now on because I thought she was terrific in The Help and 50/50, and I usually think she's amazingly dull.

oh, i absolutely agree. her performance was amazing in "take shelter". she really squeezed the maximum out of that role. it would go pretty unnoticed and dull in the hands of an inferior actress. but she was an equal to michael, in my opionon. and that's a hell of an achievement.

(it's just that, in the hotness department, she was such a bombshell in "the help". when she walked in that tight, red dress on that auction, or whatever that was... damn!)
