Idris Elba Six Times

.

I posted nine pictures of him last June, see those here. I suppose I'll have to give Mr. Elba a tag of his own here at MNPP someday soon at this rate. Maybe around the time I actually see him in something other than Thor. That's not entirely it - I guess he was in 28 Weeks Later and The Unborn, and I've seen both of those, but don't remember him from them. If you're counting, yes this means I've never seen The Wire, don't nag at me about it, I know. It also means I have never seen the weave-yanking cat-fest Obsessed with Beyonce - that you should yell at me about. And has anyone seen his show Luther, which he just won that Golden Globe for? Is it worth seeking out?

Anyway it shouldn't be a problem, me seeing him in things soon, since he's in the Ghost Rider sequel (which I will be seeing since the Crank directors made it, Nic Cage be damned) out this weekend and he's in Prometheus (which I saw the trailer for on the big screen twice this past weekend and it only got cooler the more I saw of it) and he's in Guillermo Del Toro's Pacific Rim with my boyfriend Charlie Hunnam, and in the latter his character is named Stacker Penecost. Stacker Penecost! I have nothing to add to that.

You didn't see The Losers either? That felt like a parade of beefcake right up your alley there. Idris, Columbus Short, and Chris! Evans! Granted he was dorked up to the nines and wasn't that intriguing, but those three plus Zoe Saldana Jumping on Jeffrey dean morgan's man junk plus (plus!)Jason Patric sinister-brooding! It was worth it.

I must say, the pic you have of him sitting is making me entertain(ahem)dirty thoughts.

Luther is really good. It's dark and realistic and a little fucked-up at times, because there are no happy endings. But his performance is just magnetic.

Luther's way too overblown and silly. I only watched the first season, but it gets exhausting to watch after a couple episodes. Elba's totally fine. Ruth Wilson is not so much.

I have to disagree with the above comment- I loved the first season of Luther, the second less so. The first has a magnificent psycho bitch performance from Ruth Wilson that really is worth watching, plus Idris hot as hell and doing some damn good acting himself. Anyway, I'd recommend giving it a shot.
