--- Rom Joss - Abagail Spencer, who was on Mad Men I guess, has been cast in a "supernatural romance" written by Joss Whedon. I don't think we have the title. Joss isn't directing, but he is producing. She calls it "the most romantic film of all time." Don't sell it short there, lady.
--- Ti One On - IndieWire talks to House of the Devil director and MNPP fave Ti West - have you all seen The Innkeepers yet? it's been on demand for ages now, you have no excuse not to! Unless you're waiting for it to play in theaters of course, which it will do next month - about what's next. He's got an anthology film that he directed a segment of called V/H/S that's playing at Sundance, and he's been actively working on getting together a science-fiction film called The Side Effects, which he hopes to film this year.

--- Pale Wood - Nathaniel's gallery at The Film Experience of celebrities mingling during the commercial breaks of Sunday night's Golden Globes is great fun, and we should all take a moment to give praise to Evan Rachel Wood's paleness. I am so sick of looking at orange human beings.
--- And speaking of the GGs, Glenn's list of his favorite things from the night is amazing, and I second almost all of it. (I do not like this Sofia Vergara person, so that's a no.)

--- Nic of Time - If you never got around to seeing the brilliant 2009 horror film Pontypool, I noticed the other day it's on Netflix Instant, so go watch it please. It's fantastic. That movie's director is lining up his follow-up finally - unfortunately it looks like it will star Nicolas Cage. It's called Dark Highway and it's "about a man being chased who can't distinguish reality from imagination." Hopefully Nic can rein it in a tad. Sigh.
--- Sing Sweet Valley - Diablo Cody says that her Sweet Valley High movie is going to be a musical. A musical!

--- Roman Spring - I really need to write a review of Polanski's Carnage myself today, but hedging my bets against my own laziness is always a good bet so here's Joe Reid's take on the movie which isn't all that different from what I will eventually maybe say. Especially with regards to Winslet being best in show.
--- Fire Nigh - The writer of Slumdog Millionaire (meh) and 127 Hours (yes) Simon Beaufoy is now at work on the script for the second book in The Hunger Games series, Catching Fire, says The Wrap. They also says that Gary Ross is set to direct the second film. CF is only supposed to be one film, and it's Mockingjay the third one that they're splitting into two, is that right? I can't remember.

You must watch Lola soon, it's my favorite Fassbinder. It's up there with Petra and Chinese Roulette and Ali and you get the point.
Nick - I keep getting cursed with Lola. The DVDs I get keep being broken. It's happened three times! One of these days. It's tops on my list of the ones I have left that I want to see the most.
Well that and Satan's Brew but I mostly want to see Satan's Brew because of this extremely NSFW shot of Armin Meier in it.
JA, I hear ya. I've seen that photo, gif, clip countless times. That sounded gross. I just also want to see that film.
