It's A Holly Holiday

Oh this is fine news! Back in June we heard that Diablo Cody was getting set to make her directorial debut on a script of her own... scripting... for something called Lamb of God, about "a young religious woman who loses her faith after a plane crash and decides to go to Las Vegas to live the life of a sinner but finds her way back to her faith." Julianne Hough (whoever the hell that is) is already set to play the lead, and Russell Brand and Octavia Spencer have also joined the cast. But now we hear that Holly Hunter will be playing Hough's character's "conservative and overprotective mother" and this makes us very pleased. We love her but we can't stomach that show Hunter's on that's stolen her away from us, so to have her back and add on top she'll be given Diablo Cody dialogue... this is stuff that makes us happy, at least. I know your Diablo mileage varies out there.

In a broad sense though, Lamb's plot description sounds awfully similar to that show of Hunter's that we refuse to watch, doesn't it? I can't even remember its name. Touched By A Drunkard or something. Harsh woman struggling with faith junk. I'm excited because of Diablo and now Hunter too, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit the subject matter's not my favoritest. Ah well, I gotta have faith! Faith-ah-faith-ah-faith. So on.
