We Need To Talk About Tilda

.

I just realized that some of you reading this here might not be on Facebook, or might not be friends with me on Facebook, so you might not have seen this when I posted it over there last night. That's Tilda Swinton (duh, who the hell else could it be) at a Q&A following a screening of We Need To Talk About Kevin that I was the luckiest of ducks to attend last evening. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to talk about We Need To Talk About until closer to its release date, so that picture's all you're gonna pry from my cold dead grip for now. Okay I will say that sitting in a room with and listening to Tilda Swinton talk is like a million little happy nymphs and cherubs licking each other's private parts to orgasm in your ears. Er, that's a good thing. I mean, obviously.

really? you can't talk about a movie that's been screening publicly at fests for six months now? what kind of shifty studio nonsense is that??

Is weird, right? I don't really get the rules of these things, especially since it was a SAG screening I was at and filled with people under no such restrictions. But I dare not tempt the PR gods that get me into these things! I can't go back to a Tilda-less life! I won't! ;)

So, it lives up to the hype? She was great in I am Love! I'm new to your web-site...so, what did you think of her in that? Can't wait to see the movie.

I love I Am Love, Jonathan. It came up in the Q&A and it was like an insta-swoon, just thinking about it. A gorgeous, gorgeous film that she's brilliant in. Not as brilliant as she is in Julia, I don't think, but I dunno that I'll ever love a performance from her more than that one, it might be impossible.

That's great! Please make sure to mention that when you post the movie review. Well, if you end up mentioning the Q&A. IMDB informs me that Kate del Castillo is in that movie and I've known about her from spanish-speaking televion. I'll be sure to check it out.

I can't believe I missed this when I read this post earlier, but that means it's being released here in Australia before you guys get it - it's coming out here tomorrow. Seriously, what's with that? First we get The Woman about two months before the US does (I think it was only released at one theatre in my entire state outside of the Melbourne International Film Festival, but still) and then Take Shelter got a proper release here before it'd finished opening in the US, and now We Need To Talk About Kevin is getting a theatrical release here first, and more than two months before it gets released properly in the US. I appreciate the oppotunity to see your indie movies early, but it's really strange. Usually we have to wait for months for them to hit theatres at all. Or they get released straight to DVD, or they're not released here at all, if they're really obscure.
