Today's Fanboy Delusion

Today I'd rather be...

... exploring the bush with Lee Pace.

These are from some movie called Ceremony (via) that Lee made with Uma Thurman and Michael Angarano. Actually from what I can tell these are from extra footage that's on the DVD. I haven't seen it, but man do I miss seeing Lee Pace. I hope there's a hefty dose of him in The Hobbit.

the movie was forgettable, but I think Lee Pace was actually really good in it.

The images are from the documentary Lee Pace's character made, parts of which are shown during the film (I think he may screen it after the rehearsal dinner...? That should give you a preview of his character. ;) He's delightfully pompous.

'Ceremony' isn't life-changing, of course, but I was surprised at how much I actually did enjoy the movie.

The main thing I really enjoyed (besides Pace), was how it isn't totally in love with the central character (Angarano). Rather, it pokes a lot of fun at him due to his overblown, inflated sense of self, one that evokes the worst of Wes Anderson's pretentious caricatures. (I know it's an unpopular stance 'round these parts, but I hate Wes Anderson films.)
The movie also made some nice story choices, in that it didn't follow the ridiculous Big Studio RomCom rote path for each character or for the ending.
