This scene is very early in My Week With Marilyn and gives us the MARILYN MONROE we know and adore, and then the movie goes from there to strip her down to the other Marilyn we know, the sad pill-addled one. At this point we know all the Marlyns of course, but Michelle does a great job all the same turning the icon into a real person. I do love the moments where she pulls out MARILYN though - perhaps my favorite shot in the movie is the one of her doing the little back-and-forth dance in The Prince and the Showgirl. And since we're talking about this movie again, here's a new picture of my man Dominic Cooper in it, underused though he may be. Dreamboat!
