--- A Smattering of Pattinson - You can see a couple new pictures of Robert Pattinson in David Cronenberg's
Cosmopolis right here. Pattz looks cute there, all sweaty and armed. I wanna see Juliette Binoche though. Oh I always wanna see Juliette Binoche. I want to roll over and find Juli in bed next to me one morning is how much I always wanna see Juli Binoche.
--- Oui Oui Paree - We just
talked about Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris the other day, and
now here's The Film Experience talking about how everybody's talking about
Midnight in Paris. I'm happy to be in the thick of a moment! I liked
Paris just fine, there are quite a few fun performances in it (hell I even liked Rachel McAdams in it which everybody seems to disagree with), but it's not even the best movie Woody's made recently, much less Best Picture of the year.
--- Take A Bow - If you're feeling completeist with regards to
The Hunger Games movie you can
click over here to see a new picture of Jennifer Lawrence getting her archer on. Otherwise, it's not that exciting. Yet I'm linking to it!
--- Wocka Wocka Wilson - After being a grumpy gus and not putting out any movies for a thousand years, Alexander Payne is on a roll, thank goodness.
The Descendants is out at Thanksgiving or thereabouts, of course, and he's already working on two other movies called
Nebraska and
Fork in the Road, respectively. And
now we've got word - official word, that is; the rumor's been bandied about for a few months I think - that he will adapt Dan Clowes' comic
Wilson for the screen. I have never read
Wilson but strangely I actually sat in a Q&A with Clowes about the book the one time I've been in Portland. (I sat right next to Colin Meloy!) People who know such things seem to think this is a match made in heaven, and if I were judging it off of Clowes' book
Ghost World alone, which I am, I'd have to say yes, it is.
--- Stomp - For some reason I thought this project was dead, but
BD assures us that Monsters director Gareth Edwards is still working on a
Godzilla movie, and they've found a writer after a bit of a search.
--- New Psycho - Woody Harrelson
has replaced Mickey Rourke in Martin McDonough's
Seven Psychopaths, which we've been blogging about for quite awhile now. That'll happen when somebody makes a movie as wonderful as
In Bruges. Anyway good riddance Mickey Rourke,
The Wrestler was awhile ago and I am so tired to listening to him being a whiny little asshole in interviews.
--- Smarty Marty - Before seeing
Hugo in 3D I would've scoffed at Martin Scorsese's cuckoo-for-3D comments in
this LAT interview, but he really does something spectacular with 3D in the film (
my review) that's got me dying to see the completed version, so I'm a little less scoffy than I might have been.
--- Men of Desire - Club Silencio
reports back from a 25th anniversary screening of Pedro Almodovar's
Law of Desire, which Pedro and star Antonio Banderas attended. God that's a sexy movie. Speaking of sexy Almodovar movies starring Antonio, every day I mean to write a review of
The Skin I Live In, and every day I don't. It's shameful. I liked the film a lot, I'm just having trouble coming up with something interesting to say. I know, I know, when did it ever stop me before, shut it.
--- Loopy For Looper - Rian Johnson, the dude that made
Brick and
The Brothers Bloom, has a movie called
Looper set to come out next year. I know I've made mention of it before - it's some kind of a time-travel thing with Bruce Willis and Joe Gordon-Levitt. Some online folks got to see it this week -
here's AICN's take - and the general opinion seems to be PUT THIS MOVIE INSIDE OF ME. So that's something to look forward to.

I hadn't thought about it until I just saw your post with that picture, but probably Law of Desire and The Skin I Live in can't be more different in terms of sex.
The Skin I Live in has probably the most mainstream sex scenes seen in any Almodóvar film. I get that Banderas isn't the one he was 25 years ago, but sex under the sheets? That said, Elena Anaya has an incredible body.
Honestly, I felt sorry for Rachel McAdams' character in Midnight in Paris, and I think that's totally the opposite of how the movie wants you to feel.
