A happy 29th birthday to the actor Lucas Black today. He's never left much of an impression on me, even though I've seen him in several movies (including the "Hey we were just dissing that one yesterday!" Legion) - maybe I've just missed the good stuff? I know some people who like him. I've never seen Sling Blade (Wha? It's true!) which was his introduction to movies, and I've never seen the Friday Night Lights movie (hell I've never seen the Friday Night Lights television program either) (Wha? It's true!). Anyway my point... oh I didn't have a point. It's too damn early in the morning for points. Here are a few more pictures, continued after the jump...

I liked him ages ago when he was in Flash - kids movie and he was a little cutie. He's nice to look at now but his comments on acting were silly, said he should never have to lose his accent so he passed up a role that required it. It's acting so... act.

You know, what you would like, though? That Sam Raimi-produced mid-nineties one-season show "American Gothic", in which he plays a very furrow-browed, very thick-accented 10-year-old, who may or may not be the son of the devil (who is in turn played by Gary Cole at the height of his 90s sexiness). It's pretty camp, but also quite scary at times, and it co-stars Sarah Paulson as Black's angelic dead sister.
You know me well, Fuzzy! That sounds great. I never did see it when it was on, that I can recall, but I did see it listed on his IMDb page and remembered it existing.
What can I say? Devoted reader of yours for years, glad to have something to add to the discussion for once. About the show: I watched the whole season only a few months ago, having completely missed it when it first aired, and it was indeed pretty great.
