I Am Link

.
--- I like Bryan Cranston just fine but my boyfriend loves him so this goes out to you, boyfriend: He's just signed on to play the bad guy (Richter?) in the Total Recall remake, opposite Colin Farrell. Dunno if he'll get the chance to rock the tighty-whities that've become his signature.

--- And now one for me: Michael Fassbender's found another movie to do! It's called Good Vibrations and it's about the Irish punk scene back in the day. This news seems a little bit on the unconfirmed side so far, but it's a small movie.

--- The word of the day is word. Did y'all watch The Pee-Wee Herman Show on HBO? I watched about half of it and it brought right back the flood of emotion that met me when I saw the show on stage this past Fall. Yeah it's running on pure nostalgia, but man alive is that nostalgia strong. Aaron agrees with me!

--- Splish splash Piranha 3DD will take place for the most part at a water park. With the slides and the tubes and such. Can't wait to see all that gristle flopping off the luge!

--- Hmm, in a war between Ridley Scott and Werner Herzog over the same property, I wonder whose side I will fall down on. Hmmmmmm. They both want to make a movie about Gertrude Bell, who keeps being described as the female Lawrence of Arabia. Herzog's got Naomi Watts lined up for his movie. Hmm, I wonder.

--- Some dude named Wes Craven says there's no script for a fifth Scream film yet, but I'm sure if Part 4 does well there will be soon enough. Right, Harvey? He also says he has no plans to return to Freddy Krueger any time, unsurprisingly.

--- Goddamit! - I thought we were done mentioning Chloe Moretz and The Hunger Games in the same breath! Now people are speculating she could play Katniss' younger sister Prim. Ugh. Although... well, nevermind. That'd be a spoilery thought.

--- Wow, according to Joe's latest Spring Film preview, there are about eighteen thousand movies coming out over the next few weeks that I want to see. And ninety-five percent of them are all on April 8th! Dammit!

--- And finally, speaking of a movie out on April 8th that I want to see, here are some new pictures of Eric Bana in Hanna. (via) Lawdy I've missed him.

I doubt I'll hear a more oddly, incongruously euphonious phrase than "all that gristle flopping off the luge!" this year. Poetry!
