"Alessandro Nivola... has signed on to star in and produce the indie thriller "A Single Shot" reports Deadline. ... Author Matthew F. Jones adapted his own novel which centers on a poacher who finds himself on the run with a suitcase full of money, a target on his head and hardened killers on his tail.
Michael Fassbender was originally attached to play the lead role but dropped out due to his other commitments. Emily Mortimer, William H. Macy, Terrence Howard, Juliette Lewis, James Badge Dale and Juno Temple also star. David Jacobson directs the film which kicks off shooting in May."
I was gonna say something about how Nivola probably got the part because his real life spouse Emily Mortimer was already a part of the cast, but it turns out that he and the director (whom DH misnames - it's actually David Rosenthal, not Jacobson) just worked together on their previous film Janie Jones, in which Nivola played an aging rock star who finds out he fathered Abagail Breslin. A character played by Breslin that is, not Breslin herself. That'd be all meta and shit.

I won't hear talk of you breaking up super couple Emissandro.
Remember him from Junebug. Perfect quartet: Davidtz, Him, Adams, and McKenzie. Reminds of perfect cast of The Fighter.
