Oh Possibly Happy Day!

Vulture's got word that financing might be coming through on Paul Thomas Anderson's next two films! One being The Master, that Scientologyish cult movie he was going to make with Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Jeremy Renner that fell apart because "of a wall... Paul couldn't overcome," which sounds terribly strange and ominous but is an actual quote from Renner. It was actually just money... and John Travolta, no doubt. The other project is that Pynchon adaptation Inherent Vice that last I heard was threatening with Robert Downey Jr. in the central role. Vulture mentions that and says it's entirely possible still. Ugh, him. Read their whole story over there. Any PTA news of the forward-momentum sort is always welcome.
