I Am Link

.
--- Miss Chrissy's Next Move - Because the movies have decided they don't know what to do with her wonder, Christina Ricci's turned to a TV show. She's attached herself to Pan Am, which is described as a "1960s-set sexy soap... [which] revolves around the pilots and flight attendants of the once-iconic airline which dominated the skies." So basically Mad Men In The Air.

--- Venkman! - Bill Murray had an extensive chat with Howard Stern on the air the other day and AICN was kind enough to transcribe a hefty chunk of it and it's a great read. Murray talks among other things about Ghostbusters 3 (he's had the script for ages but hasn't gotten around to even reading it), his beef with Ron Howard (making me love you more, Bill!) and his thoughts on the current cast of Saturday Night Live.

--- Hammer Cat - Over at FourFour Rich got around to sharing some mostly positive thoughts on Dogtooth (as well as some killer screen-grabs), but I gotta disagree that the film shows lesser returns with each viewing. I've seen it thrice (yes, thrice) now and its weirdness captivates and amuses me more and more.

--- After The Fighter - It warms the cockles of my cold dead heart to read about all the projects that David O. Russell's got lined up in front of him to do next the the wake of The Fighter's success - in an interview with The Playlist they talk about this very thing - when just a couple years ago he was having such a struggle with Nailed (no I won't complain here about not getting that movie oh wait too late nevermind).

--- Captain Triceratops - Have you seen this gallery of dinosaur superheroes? You should see this gallery of dinosaur superheroes. It's a very happy thing.

--- Giggling Greta - The new Arthur poster still sucks but at least they added Greta Gerwig, the film's female lead, to it this time around. Anyway I'm at a place in my Gerwigian affections where I'll see anything she's in so I will see this movie.

--- Brrrr - Final Girl's Film Club went down yesterday with Adam Green's Frozen the object du jour and it appears that a whole heckuva lot of people participated this time around. So I've got the rest of my morning planned, plowing through them, getting annoyed at anyone who doesn't agree with me. Whee!

Glad to see you also found Frozen ridiculous. I mean, seriously! For people who were freezing to death, they didn't seem to care a whole lot about, oh, being WARM. Silly Frozen.

Ugh! I know! That movie made me so nuts! And it still makes me crazy just thinking back on it. If you have to make your characters that stupid and hateful in order to move along your plot then you are a terrible film-maker.

Frozen's premise worked when it was an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Add wolves and the strident Emma Bell and it stops working.
