Henry Cavill has gotten his man. His Superman, that is. Deadline has the word that Cavill, whose name was in the mix several years back - alongside Matthew Bomer - before Brandon Routh was cast in Bryan Singer's film, will slip into the big blue tights in Zach Snyder's film. What do we think? I think hell yes.

Anyone who knows me knows that I fucking love Superman. But I know nothing about this guy other than you've posted about him before. Is he at least a good actor? God knows Synder has made some serious casting fuck ups in the past. I need someone to ease my mind on my beloved Superman. P.S. I loved Brandon Routh.
I'd amend that to a hell fucking yes. Now if they can just cast someone non awful as Lois Lane, I'm going to be even happier.
This news gets three appendages up from me. But think about what a kick in the balls this must be for Brandon Routh. He gets replaced with someone he beat out on the last casting call. I'm sure he's contorting his face awkwardly in a pale imitation of human emotion as we speak. (Aw, sorry Brandon, I had to. Because you're not a great actor.)
Okay, if they must replace the actor playing Superman, they must also replace Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane; Bosworth is a singularly colorless, charmless actress. How she ever got to be cast as a leading lady in anything is beyond me.
I'm not that impressed with Snyder, honestly. And I think I'm allergic to reboots - I don't see the point, other than lucre. But the lovely Cavill's a good actor, and certainly looks the part. I agree with Julia - someone non-awful for Lois Lane, please.
I just keep telling myself it could be worse. It could be Zak Penn. ::shudder::
