Apparently X-Men Muppet Babies director Matthew Vaughn was let's say unhappy with that first image from his movie that got leaked online the other day. Says Vaughn via Slash:"“I freaked out on [the studio] yesterday. I don’t know where the hell that came from. I don’t think it’s a Fox image. It’s not a pre-approved image. When I found out, I said, what the fuck is this shit, and Fox is running around trying to figure out what happened as well. I agree. It’s like a bad photoshop, which maybe it was by someone. It didn’t reflect the movie. I was shocked when I saw it. I was like ‘Jesus Christ’…"
Indeed, sir! Well said. Thankfully he righted the wrong and they've released a couple of much better pictures with great haste to erase that crappiness from our minds. And putting Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy front and center (with a dash of Nicky Hoult in the background there too!) gets the job done, for sure.

Ugh. I will never cross that lobby threshold to view this piece of trash. I grew up with X-Men and know quite a bit about the history and mythology of this team and this movie just pisses me right off. I overlooked the liberties they took with the first three movies; hell, the comic book *has* been around since 1963 and I don't expect them to get it all in three movies. You even expect movies to take many different turns from the original material. I just can't get over the fact that they are passing this off as the first class of X-Men. It's blasphemous to all that is holy as written by our lord and saviour Stan Lee Christ.
Mystique and White Queen are VILLIANS!! VILLIANS, dammit! Sure, they turn good later on, but they were not, nor would they have ever been, founding members of X-Men. Azazel? Is this just a cheap ploy to get a "look, this is where Nightcrawler came from!" storyline? Dumb dumb dumb. We don't *need* to know who his parents are, newbies and super geeks alike. Moira McTaggert I can understand, what with her history with Professor X and their relationship...and on that note, wtf are the Professor and Magneto teenagers?? That and the fact that they didn't start the X-Men together. Their falling out came BEFORE the formation of the X-Men. Oh, and Havok? Cyclops's brother is an original X-Man, but Jean Grey and he aren't?? I understand Angel (stupid X-Men: The Last Stand), but I still don't like it.
Professor X, Scott Summers, Jean Grey, Hank McCoy, Warren Worthington III, and Bobby Drake. Those are and always will be the X-Men: The First Class.
