Good Morning, Westeros

I was so distracted by Jason Momoa's fur-promise last night that I totally missed there's a gallery of pictures from HBO's A Game of Thrones series at that link as well! Here are a couple I liked:

There on the left is little Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) and his bastard brother Jon Snow (Kit Harington) to the right of him overseeing his archery practice. And in the right-hand picture we've got the exiled Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), who will one day dance with dragons.

That's Lena Headey wearing what I've been told is a very heavy wig playing Cersei Lannister, a character that I guess is about as close to a villain as there is in the book although she's nothing that simple. She's awesome. And there on the right is her brother Tyrion played by Peter Dinklage.

And that's the long-lusted-for Nicholaj Coster-Waldau as Jamie Lannister, brother to Tyrion and brother-with-benefits to Cersei. He looks just right. Pretty and golden and cruel. Hubba hubba.

If you care you should check out the rest of the gallery, there are glimpses of Catelyn and Eddard Stark and King Robert to be had as well. And yes, you should anticipate a whole lotta geekery here at MNPP over this series as it approaches, so if you haven't read the books and don't want to feel terribly uncool, you should probably get on that. Also this an inverse world, where reading fantasy novels makes you cool. Pleased to meet you! (via Sean)

Indeed, Jaime looks right, and I'm gaining more faith in this adaptation as more pics are presented. Looking over the rest of the cast list, Harry Lloyd, Finn Jones, and Roy Dotrice also seem excellent choices for their parts (Viserys, the Prince of Flowers, and Pycelle).
