You're Super Thanks For Asking

In case I hadn't made it clear with all my whining on Twitter about what a horrible life I have because both Comic Con and the New York Film Festival were eating up my life over the weekend, I spent a bunch of time wandering around Comic Con this weekend. It was fun, and also exhausting. I wrote up a bunch of thoughts about what I heard and saw at The Film Experience today, so go and read that now. I talk briefly about The Thing remake, the panel on The Walking Dead series on AMC, and Jimmy Franco and Danny McBride's hangover on the panel for Your Highness. M. Night Shyamalan also makes an appearance. And then come back and see more pictures I took, which I will post now. Not now now, but after you read what I wrote now now. Click 'em to embiggen, per usual...

Here's where I admit that I haven't read The Walking Dead comics yet but oh my god after watching that panel do I ever feel the need to, with haste. How are they, I ask you people who know things? Frank Darabont, Gale "Aliens and Terminator" Hurd, and Robert Kirkman (the comics creator) were all completely convincing salesmen for the comics and the show. The cast was funny, and the footage looked fantastic. I cannot wait for this show. Halloween night, yo!

Similarly the footage from David Gordon Green's Your Highness sold me completely on something I wasn't 100% on. While I love everybody doing it, it seemed kinda weird. But now I see that it's not kinda weird, it's CRAZY weird, and crazy weird's right up my alley.

Can we maybe do "Your Highness" without Danny McBride? ...Is that possible? ...No?

You don't like Danny McBride? Seriously? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?

We haven't gotten every possible iteration of that one shitkicker note he's got in his arsenal?

I've been reading your blog for a while and I swear to my boyfriend that you're his alter ego. It's crazy how much your tastes in film are alike. In any case, The Walking Dead is an excellent series and from what I've seen of the trailer, looks to very faithful to the original. If it's as harsh and unforgiving, it should make a great series, albeit very dark and depressing. I highly recommend it.
