Getcha Boo On

.
As we noted the other day, it's October yo! The greatest month of the year! I'm hoping I pull my shit together to celebrate the month o' All Hallows towards the end in style, but I'm not making any promises; I get lazy and distracted far too easily by shiny things. Shiny, naked things. But fingers crossed! Thankfully this here internet is full of people far more enterprising than I, and there are some spooky themed shenanigans going down I thought I'd direct you guys to check out if you weren't. Cuz ya should!

--- Over at Final Girl, Stacie Ponder's started a giant countdown - 732 movies, y'all - voted on by her readers of their favorite horror movies.

--- Meanwhile, as he does with spectacular grace every year, Arbogast On Film is again showing off a choice lot of 31 Screams. Every day a new holler! The way life is meant to be lived.

--- This isn't specifically themed to the holiday since he's been doing it for months now and will continue doing it for months after October ends, bless him, but Glenn's still going through the Scream series scene by scene by glorious scene and dissecting it into beautiful bits. RIP Tatum.

--- There's not a good, succinct link to link to for this, but you should be paying attention to Quint's A Movie A Day series for October because he's reviewing a horror movie every day and there's always something I've never even heard of right around the bend. Here's the most recent one. Following him on Twitter seems to be the best way to get updates on when each new post arrives.

If anybody knows of any more ghoulishly delightful
festivities going on, share them in the comments...

If I may be slightly self-serving, I made my own horror montage to kick off October (during which I'll be posting about all the horror I'm watching throughout the month). I'd love to get some feedback on it...

Don't forget Dennis at Sergio Leone And The Infield Fly Rule, Greg at Cinema Styles and Bill at The Kind Of Face You Hate - all of them do some of the best writing on film out there and dedicate much of October to horror.

Thanks for all of those, Bob!
