From the Lips of the Other Greenwood

.
I don't really have a handle on the members of Radiohead beyond Thom. As ridiculously spazzy as I am for them, I haven't really felt the need to dive into their biographies. The music, man! It's about he music. (Yes, slap me. Please.) I know that Jonny Greenwood is the lanky weirdo who did the glorious score for There Will Be Blood and was robbed of even an Oscar nomination, much less the deserved win. Phil Selway's got an album of his own out right now too. Ed O'Brien is a tall drink of attractive water. For a member of Radiohead, at least. And then there's Colin, Jonny's brother, and I don't have a single solitary clue about him. But lo behold he's just written an essay about the way the band released In Rainbows, and about how they are thinking about releasing their new material.... new material which they've got! Like, finished!

"Three years later, we have just finished another group of songs, and have begun to wonder about how to release them in a digital landscape that has changed again."

Blah blah he goes on to share what the band's thinking about how to release things now blah. I'm being facetious, it's an interesting article worth checking out if you're curious, but for our purposes here I am just taking this as an opportunity to scream at them JUST RELEASE IT IF IT IS DONE, YOU MONSTERS. That's all. Oh, and do at least five shows in NYC too. Thanks!

Unfortunately Greenwood used some cues from his previously performed/recorded composition "Popcorn Superhet Receiver" and that's why his TWBB score couldn't be nominated for an Oscar that year. Stupid rules! Who needs 'em, amiright?
