Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

Deep Red (1975)

Carlo (Gabriele Lavia): Look, maybe you've seen something so important you can't realize it.

Marc (David Hemmings): But... I'm just trying to understand, because... Carlo ... You know, sometimes what you actually see and what you imagine... get mixed up in your memory like a cocktail... from which you can no longer distinguish one flavor from another.

That's about the most succinct description that I've ever read of what watching an Dario Argento film feels like. Drunk and delirious, check and check.

A happy 70th birthday today to the man
who turns our memories into cocktails.

I'm having Phantom of the Opera flashes.

I heart 70s/80s Dario Argento.

I at least found Phantom of the Opera to be amusing. It's just so ridiculously over the top. It's his new lackluster crime procedurals that are killing me.
