Anyway within this interview the interviewer asks him if he understands people's obsession with his voice. If I weren't so obsessed with his voice myself this might seem an odd question to ask the man, but I think an appreciation of his voice is a huge part of what makes the narrations he does in documentaries so successful (and hysterical), so as far as I'm concerned one ought to be curious if he gets that, since he certainly exploits it.
But that's not the part that I'm quoting here. It's what comes next that amuses me.
"On that note, you will also sort of see me, and hear me in this new season of The Simpsons. That is my upper thesis in popular American culture. I play a guest role on that cartoon, which will come out in February or March."
Only Werner Herzog - well, also maybe James Franco - could put doing voice-over for The Simpsons that way and make me smile. Oh you!
He also talks about his big 3D cave documentary - which is premiering in Toronto next month - as well as a couple of projects he's lining up to do next. An exciting time to be a Herzog devotee, with all these upper theses batting around!

Herzog on "The Simpsons"!?!? God has answered the prayers that I didn't even know that I made!
Thanks for turning me on to the interview. I <3 Herzog. He can do anything.
