Ha okay I am officially on-board with the Eli Roth produced The Last Exorcism now. I haven't been watching any trailers because I'd heard they were spoilery and it seems the right sort of thing to go into fresh as a newborn clutching a daisy, but this video of teen boys not quite getting what they expect from their sexy ChatRoulette session is pretty freaking funny. Brilliant viral marketing. I saw this at the LA Film Festival a month ago. Won't spoil with my impressions, but curious about yours.
I won't spoil either (just saw it at Toronto After Dark with Roth doing Intro and Q&A), but will say that I found it excellent. Trailer does give away some minor spoilers, but it doesn't matter - the film is all about its atmosphere and slow building creep. It spends time with its characters early so that things become much more tense later on. I expect that may hurt it in the wider horror market, but I wish more films approached horror in this fashion.
