I'm leaving work and therefore the blog early today for [unspecified purposes I'm afraid to name lest I jinx myself] so things'll be quiet here after Noon. Still there's a lot out there to entertain you that's not made by me! Crazy, but true! Here are a few of the things I deem worthy of your time.

Yay! Say what you will about Zach Snyder's directing abilities - and I'm obviously pretty pro him, in case you haven't noticed - but his recognition of Carla Gugino as awesomeness incarnate and his muse use of her these days is to be commended no matter your opinion of Snyder's talents as a film-maker.

--- Viva Clips - Speaking of speaking of trailers, Joe spake of trailers in a post rounding up some curious ones over at Low Res. Can you even believe that I still haven't watched the supposedly-something-special new trailer for David Fincher's The Social Network yet? It has a Radiohead cover, it has Andrew Garfield, it's David Fincher, it's supposedly incredible, and I still haven't watched it! I don't know how this is possible. And speaking of speaking of that trailer, Kim Morgan did a post on the Social Network trailer right here.
--- In N Out - The Guardian compiled a nifty lil' list of their ten favorite cameos, and I've only seen like four of them...? But still, I don't think I'm spoiling anything by mentioning that they chose one of Hitchcock's cameos - of course they did - but I don't really get their choice. Because it's his first one in his American movies? It's hardly his most memorable. my mind always goes to the newspaper clipping floating in the water in Lifeboat...

... but I've read the story behind that one a million times - figuring out how to do a cameo in a movie entirely set on a lifeboat at sea proved a challenge, but he ended up putting himself in the newspaper in an ad for an imaginary weight loss program because he'd just gone on a diet, and then the studio was inundated with requests for information on the imaginary program when the film came out - so I guess I have reason to always think of that one.

And Hardy has just replaced former Foreign It Boy Sam Worthington in This Means War, McG's action romcom about spies who fall for the same gal - Reese Witherspoon is the gal and Captain Kirk Chris Pine is the other spy - and wage literal war on each other over winning her. I previously posted about this movie briefly here. Sorry Mr. Pine, but Tom slips my affections way into his direction.

--- Butch Page - And speaking of that! There's actually an article at Cinematical on Ellen Page's boyishness and how it works in Inception. This was certainly a topic of conversation in my household after seeing the film. That insanely sexless kiss between her and Joe! I know it was meant to be a joke, but it still... felt... odd.

how about a gratuitous (sp?) post on Zack Snyder himself? I challenge you! Don't go nuts, but I would love a good web hunt.
