--- Firstly, Me - Naturally. This week's piece on this weekend's movies and other assorted thoughts from me on movies this week is up at Celebrity Beehive over yonder. We talk about liking Action Angie and Todd Solondz and some of the late breaking ComiCon news like Guillermo Del Toro's Haunted Mansion movie - wha? - and Joss Whedon's official Avengers announcement. All over the place this week.

--- Secondly, Me - Naturally. Even more so! I should also link to this "Which Is Hotter?" post I did over at The Film Experience yesterday in honor of Terence Stamp's birthday. So that's what I just did.

--- J V JJ - But back to that ComiCon stuff - AICN has a run-down of all the cool news that came out of yesterday's ComiCon panel conversation with Joss Whedon and JJ Abrams were surprisingly no geek's head exploded. I mean mine would've. Anyway the tidbit that most grabbed my interest was on the Joss-scripted Cabin in the Woods, which was supposedly held back to be converted to 3D, but Joss says he doesn't think it'll work well in 3D. Oh...kay?

--- A Falling Mandy - That gif there is a gift from Rich at Four Four - it's Amanda Seyfried falling off a bike in Atom Egoyan's Chloe, which he just reviewed in all its ridiculousness - and no matter how many times I watch it I will never ever stop laughing. The gif that is - I haven't watched the movie yet. It's on my list! My never-ending list, longer every second that passes.

--- Barefoot Bandit: The Movie - I'm sure I was hardly alone in thinking the story of that teenage terror would make for a fine eventual film, but I didn't expect to hear something so soon and so nifty: David Gordon Green producing and perhaps probably wanting to direct it? yes, please, will take!

--- Leather Ladies - I sorta stopped paying attention to Zach Snyder's next movie Sucker Punch when the revolving cast got progressively less cool with each new round - from Amanda Seyfried to Vanessa Hudgens? Downgrade! - but now that ComiCon's here and they're releasing images it's back on my brain. I'll have to see some footage but so far... well, it looks kinda stupid. We'll see. I guess the women aren't any more sexualized than the men of 300 were in their leather diapers - bless those leather diapers - but I dunno. It's not hooking me. We'll see.

--- Topless Joe - Joseph Gordon Levitt appears to spend 100% of his upcoming movie Hesher without half of his clothes on, judging from all the pictures that've been released so far, and that, as you might've guessed, is just fine with me.


Although this older picture from the film, of Joey in just his BVDs, is naturally my favorite. Anyway you can also see Natalie Portman geeking herself up for the movie at that first link..
