The books are some of the best in the fantasy genre I think. The mini series is supposed to start next spring.

The books will blow you THE FUCK AWAY. Seriously. I honestly cannot remember the last time I was so totally enraptured by a book as I was by that series. Go in as cold as you can--just know that it is essentially to fantasy what Deadwood is to the Western. Give the first book, A Game of Thrones, to page 50, and if you're not hooked, I'll buy you dinner or something.
