I Am Link

.
--- Good Grav(it)y - Slash has got a bunch of details on the plot and the technical aspects of Alfonso Cuarón's next film, Gravity, the one that's gonna star (sigh) Robert Downey Jr. The story details are a little spoilery if you wanna go in having no idea about plot, so beware that, but the tech. details are pretty cool sounding at least when you consider the man behind the camera - the film will be 60% CG a la Avatar and the opening shot is going to last 20 minutes long. Add exclamation points here. I trust Alfonso Cuarón as far as I can throw him... in zero gravity! Meaning lots. Now let's just hope RDJ drops out and all will be good again!

--- Wrecked Twice - Over at FourFour Rich hated the [REC] sequel and reminds us that he hated the original too. Which I'd forgotten. Anyway I think he's got a weird chip on his shoulder towards the films and is picking nits for their own sake at this point; I was pleased with both films (my review of Part 1 is here and my review of Part 2 is here). The first one's scarier, but I liked the weird silly way they expanded the mythology of the first one in the sequel. We're talking about zombies here, not real science, dude, and it seems a little weird to abhor a zombie movie's ridiculous melding of science and religion as ridiculous when it's already about ridiculous zombies (all of which I mean as a compliment).

--- Hey Look
- It's Ari Graynor filming a scene for the movie where she plays Anna Faris' sister, hooray!

--- Hey Look Again - It's not Ari Graynor or Anna Faris but it is a pair of Predators fighting, flapping their vagina mouths around threateningly, which is something I hope Ari and Anna get around to doing in their movie too.

--- Over Flows - Jezebel gathered together a bunch of scenes in movies where ladies got their periods, for fun. Surf that crimson flow, dudes.

--- Die Lorelei - Is Mama Gilmore in Scream 4? That's the rumor.

--- Skull Fuckers - Are tag-team directors Neveldine and Taylor, of Crank infamy, doing the Ghost Rider sequel? I've never seen the first film and really think I never will but this would get me in the theater. They be bonkers in the best ways.

So I just read the book that that Anna Faris movie is based on (it's summer and I'm pregnant, that's my excuse for reading chick lit). Anyways, her fiance is supposed to be black and Jewish--does Hollywood whitewashing never end? *end rant* BTW that book was actually kind of funny which I think means the movie has potential!
