--- Goodbye Guillermo - By now you've all heard that Guillermo Del Toro dropped out of directing The Hobbit because of all the delays in getting the film green-lit due to MGM's many financial woes. Peter Jackson would obviously be choice to take over but maybe cannot. So who should do it? io9 brings up some possibilities that sound... possible.

--- Take Five - Speaking of directing shenanigans, BD has a list of names being bandied about to helm the fifth Final Destination installment and it's a bunch of first-timers that have CG and special effects work under their respective belts.

--- A Second Spy Daddy - Apparently ABC wants JJ Abrams to reboot his Alias series, just four years after the original one slinked off the air in a ratty pink wig.

--- Degree of Tightness - That's what's missing from this spy's report of what the Captain America costume looks like - telling us how snug the thing is! That's what matters most of all. It is Chris Evans sliding into that thing. Nothing will presumably top how tight his Johnny Storm costume was, alas. But at least it's not CG like the Green Lantern movie's ripping us off with Ryan Reynolds.

--- Prof XXX - I missed this news last week so maybe y'all did too - James McAvoy's been cast as the youngish Professor X, previously played by Patrick Stewart, in X-Men: First Class.

--- Go Go Girls - Glenn of Stale Popcorn named his favorite eleven female performances of the decade that just was over here and it's good stuff all round. Tilda! Nicole! Burstyn! Winslet! Oh my, yes.

--- And finally, if this had come out today it'd probably get it's own special maniacal post filled with screencaps from it but it's been out a day and in internet-time that makes it ancient.
