The Bigamist?

Jason Adams said...

It's not Gloria Grahame pictured there.

And nope, it's not The Bigamist.

i'm getting an early barbara stanwyck vibe, but i can't recall her ever carrying a laundry basket.

Touch of Evil? Total Guess...we may need some more caps on this one!

Jason Adams said...

Shonuff, at one point in her career Babs def. handled a laundry basket. I'll leave it at that. For now. ;-)

It's not Touch of Evil, shaun, but I think you're right about me having to add some more pics soon... if the previous sentence I just wrote doesn't do the trick, that is...

Jeopardy? Looks awfully bechy there...

shaun said...

*beachy

Jason Adams said...

Not Jeopardy.

A streetcar named desire?

Jason Adams said...

Not Streetcar.

Baby Face?

I KNOW I've seen this, but I can't place it, ugh.

This is ruining my day.

(It wouldn't be Sorry, Wrong Number, would it?)

Jason Adams said...

Not Baby Face. Not Sorry Wrong Number. In the time-line of those two movies though JD's headed in the right direction.

Another hint: the woman in that last picture who's dancing is a different actress than the woman in all the other pictures, but is a much bigger star. She'd also be dead in 10 years.

Nate B. said...

Is it Full of Life? Dead in ten years makes me think of Judy Holliday...sadly...

Jason Adams said...

Nope it's not Full of Life or Judy Holliday.

Simon said...

I want to say The Birds, so very bad.

J.D. said...

IS IT ACTUALLY BARBARA STANWYCK?

Jason Adams said...

The Birds is in color, Simon! Shame! ;)

Fine JD yes, YES, the lady in every picture except the last one is Barbara Stanwyck! Commence guessing every single movie she ever made til you get it.

And JD if you've kept your Valley Record up to date I checked and this movie is NOT listed there, so you probably have not seen it. Course I'm starting to think I'm the only person who has seen this movie.

Clash by Night!

Clash by Night?

J.D. said...

Huh. I SWEAR TO FUCK I've seen that desperate-making-out-with-a-hand-lodged-in-the-guy's-wifebeater before. I also recognize that kitchen. And the trainyard. And the beach-view. And the baby. SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW.

J.D. said...

Oh, that's what happening now.

Odd.

Is it, "The Egg and I?"

RJ said...

Haha win by one minute!

Simon said...

I'm working with two hours of sleep, leave me alone!

Maybe...Christmas in Connecticut? No, the Strange Love of Martha Ivers?

Keep in mind, I'm just going through what movies of her's I've seen in my head.

Jason Adams said...

CLASH BY NIGHT! YES!

I only saw this yesterday by the way. I was wracking my brain for good hints but couldn't really think up any. I suck at hints.

Anyway good job, RJ (and one minute later HyperionCT). Can I ask what finally gave it away?

RJ said...

I basically just clicked on every Barbara Stanwyck movie on IMDB until I found one that met the clues for the second actress.

HyperionCT said...

....yea, same here.
(PS: love your blog...read it daily!)

Jason Adams said...

HA! I knew that would happen.

It's only an alright movie, but Babs is terrific (she's always terrific) and Marilyn Monroe is good and really really sexy in it.

As is the guy who plays MM's boyfriend, Keith Andes, and I plan on posting some pics of him but now it'll have to wait til tomorrow since this 5FF took all day and I didn't want to spoil it. :(
