I Am Link

.
--- ApocaLars - The last I'd heard about Lars Von trier's new movie about the end of the world, Meloncholia, it was set to star Penny Cruz. Apparently she decided she'd rather be silly with Johnny Depp on the fourth Pirates film then kill a little bit of herself working for Lars, so she's gone - in her stead, Kristen Dunst, yo! I know Kiki gets hated on, but I like her a lot, and love that she's taking this risk. Her career needs this right now.

Also joining the cast - Alexander Skarsgard, yo! Knowing Lars' history with his male characters, Alex will be a sexy beast of an asshole, and I can't wait for that. His father Stellan's also on-board, as well as the Charlottes Rampling and Gainsbourg, the latter returning for torment after surviving Antichrist.

--- Little Poof - BD has a teeny tiny bit of info on Brad Anderson's latest, The Vanishing on 7th Street, including a brief synopsis and a title card. I love Brad Anderson, but his cast here - including Hayden Christensen and fucking Thandie Newton (UGH), is not making me an enthusiastic boy for this one. Still no word on its release.

--- Silver Spoon - Over at AfterElton they've reviewed the Director's Cut of 54 that played a theater in LA last year (I think?) and praised it, as has everyone that's seen it, and it sounds super gay with the Phillippe in his prime and what not and man alive I have to get my hands on this movie! I mean, look:

Good grief.

--- Master Now - io9 has an article titled "Why Joss Whedon Should Be Your New Marvel Overlord" which I haven't read yet but I think we can all assume that with a title like that I will get around to the reading part soon. As should you!

--- Fish Lady - That Colin Farrell and a mermaid movie has a trailer now and you can watch it at Slash. It's called Ondine, it's directed by Neil Jordan, and in it Colin's a fisherman that catches a girl in his net. I love you, Colin. Did anybody read that article in EW recent;y about his resurrected career? I was all, "I never stopped loving him!!!" But all that heard me were the walls and my action figures. Sigh.

--- And finally, here's Thom Yorke covering Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" in Oakland last night (via), because you know you wanna hear that. (thanks Jim!)
