Cocaine's A Hell Of A Drug

.

That's Eli Roth & friends at Coachella this weekend,
via the Twitters. Sigh.

Eli, you do remember why anybody knows your damn name, right? I'm glad you're having some fun, but how about we put down the Fred Flintstone-on-acid pants that you went back in time and stole from a raver in 1997 and open up your laptop for a purpose other than stalking your the mothers of your girlfriend's ex-flings and like, I don't know, working on a fucking script, maybe? And then you can go and start making another movie already? Like directors do! Crazy I know. I've kept myself willfully ignorant about his girlfriend, this Peaches person, all I know is everybody makes stink-face when her name comes up. But really I could care less - stick it in whoever you want, man. I would just like you to make another movie, and until that happens I'm done with you. (Unless he takes off his clothes again.)

Two of my friends have broken up with long-term boyfriends recently, and I caught myself wondering the other day of the Law of Threes would rear its ugly head. And here we are! It's sad to watch but I can't look away.

I think he's achieved his goal, which was not necessarily to direct great horror films, but simply to become famous. He's had so many movies in various stages of "development" for so long it's hard to keep track...but it feels like he's happier in front of the camera than he is behind it.

Which is fine (famewhoring aside)- I wouldn't get all wrapped up in anticipating his next effort.

I really don't care.

I really, really don't.

I just want to look at him all day.

Preferably without clothes, natch.

Sigh.

Siiiigh.

I thought he showed some kind of promise as a director and found him somewhat goodlooking. Now my heart breaks for him, because its clear he has thown away discipline he had and will never direct any films again. Obliously that's not what he really wanted to do.
