--- Viva Femme - If you feel like wading into lady waters today there's no better pond to dip your toe in than Nat's list of young actresses he's looking forward to watching over the next decade at The Film Experience. His continued devotion to all things Ari Graynor brings me much pleasure, and I second (and third, and fourth) his call for her to get a damn lead role already.
--- Cantina Jam - io9 got an especially geeky tidbit from an interview with Kristen Wiig about Paul, Simon Pegg's alien-road-trip movie that co-stars all sorts of awesome people including Wiig and Sigourney Weaver, choice quote:
Geek porn.
--- Act, Pretty Boy - Aww, ain't he cute, it's Chris Evans is trying to be "serious" and "wear clothes" again. He's signed on for an indie drama as a lawyer facing down a "healthcare giant." Maybe he will have to tear off his suit and build a slingshot out of it in order to topple this monstrous beast? Yeah. Maybe.
--- Ryan's Behind - Hey look, it's Ryan Reynolds walking around on the set of The Green Lantern, looking like the fine slab of man he usually does. He isn't wearing spandex though, so sad face.
--- No Sonja - Rose McGowan's been cast as a witchy-type in the Conan movie, and Slash figures this means that her Red Sonja movie is as dead as her relationship with Robert Rodriguez. I think that's seemed pretty obvious for awhile. I'm just glad she's getting hired, at this point. I love Rose, and never see her, dammit.
--- Hobbit Ho - According to Ian McKellan, The Hobbit is gonna start shooting in June. That's apparently enough information to warrant a mention, cuz that's all there is, and here I am, mentioning it. Bah.
--- Runaway Clash of the Bounty Hunters - If you're curious about what's opening over the next couple of weeks movie-wise then the place to look is here, at the fourth Spring Preview post at Low Resolution over yonder.
--- Ripley's Got Teeth - Sigourney Weaver is working non-stop these days and that, my friends, is glorious, glorious, glorious. She's just signed on for Vamps, Amy Heckerling's reunion with Alicia "Cher" Silverstone movie about vampire girls in the city. Siggy's playing their sire.
--- This In That - So glad that Stale Popcorn's "Movies In Movies" series has been going strong lately, I love it. The random connections between films always fascinates me. Why was a certain movie chosen by the set designer? What does it say about the character, or the moment, in the film? Really curious, always.
--- Bet A Knee - It seems odd to me that The Tourist is actually filming right now, since casting was going on for ages, with all the switches, forever. But it is, and they've just added Paul Bettany and Rufus Sewell to the cast. I hope this movie ends up as something worth the time I've devoted to posting about it.
--- And finally, Xander got tased, yo!

"Are you up on all the science fiction references that Simon and Nick [Frost] do?
Wiig: Some of them, yes. There's a scene in a bar where they are actually playing the Star Wars bar song, [The Cantina Scene]. But it's a country version so it's sort of slow — so you need to kind of already know that. But a lot of people who knew it were like, "oh my God!" But I didn't really."
Geek porn.

I hate to be picky, but its in my nature, so I will. Siggy can't sire anything. She's a woman. It's not physically possible.
Shit you're right, Prospero. I've never even thought about the fact that even in reference to vampires sire is a masculine word. So what's the female equivalent then? Dam, like with animals?
