I read about this the other day and promptly spaced on it like a fool, but Roger Ebert did the legwork and figured it all out - apparently Germany is screening the new restored version of Fritz Lang's masterpiece Metropolis online today (it's got about an hour of footage long thought lost reinserted that was recovered awhile back). Around 12:40 New York time, I think? Anyway, click here for Ebert's info, and this is the link where it will apparently be shown. If you like movies, which I assume you do if you're here, this isn't something you miss. It just is not. Period.
