I Am Link

.
--- My Gal Greta - Hey, everybody remember that time I told ya about where I'd just fallen completely head-over-heels for House of the Devil star Greta Gerwig? Yeah that was a blast. Well PopWrap went and interviewed her. They don't talk about our love affair but it's good nonetheless. Choice bit about her character in HoD:

"PW: You were born in the year the movie was set, so aside from yearbooks did you have any character touchstones?

Greta: I thought a lot about the babysitters I had growing up, especially the ones that chewed gum. Even though in the movie Megan never chews gum, I felt like she would be a gum chewer."

Oh god her character is such a gum chewer! Good call, person that created the character, you know that of which you speak. And there's another bit that I really wanted to quote but it's spoilery so head over if you've seen the film and check it.

--- Catcher On Film - Now that JD Salinger passed, do you think we'll have a renaissance of his work and some fool will actually get Catcher in the Rye made? Not that Salinger really ever went out of favor, at least in spirit, and leave it to Kim Morgan to list six films that owe a great debt to the writer. I want to watch Six Degrees of Separation right this instant. Ouisa and Flan Kittredge for the win!

--- Hitch-o-rama - Well this might be the geekiest thing I geek out about all geeky week - via Cinematical came this link to a gallery of dioramas created for an auction awhile back... dioramas based on Hitchcock movies. That's hardcore. And ooh they make me squeal with delight! (Geek.)

--- Mamma Jamma - STYD has got the trailer for Mother, the highly praised new film by the dude that directed The Host. The Host was highly praised too and I found it vastly overrated, but I find myself curious about Mother all the same. Probably just to be annoyed again. Joy. Mother's out on March 12th.

--- And finally, if you're in the mood for "wanton wig abuse" set to the smooth melodies of a witchy chorus, I think you should check out Final Girl's review of something called The Witches Mountain. Hilarity ensues.
