I Am Link

.
--- Monsters Mashed - I really want to get around to seeing Daybreakers, I've heard some interesting things about it, but it didn't happen this weekend, time evaporated away like so much blood-spray. Cinematical's got a nice lil' tribute to the film's monster sub-set, called "Subsiders," which is what happens to vampires in the world of the film when they don't get blood. Apparently they are cool. Anyone see the movie?

--- Diablo's Lament - Over at STYD they've got a couple of quotes from an interview with Diablo Cody on some horror junk - she says that Jennifer's Body failed because it was too much of "an art film" (and she acknowledges that you will laugh at her for saying that) and then she talks a little bit about her producing gig on Breathers: A Zombie's Lament, which I don't remember if I knew she was aboard or not. I liked that book.

--- Goodbye, Cop-Bot - Darren Aronofsky will not be remaking Robocop, says here. The reason?

"The problem is that Mary Parent, Chairperson of MGM, wants a 3D movie for the new ROBOCOP. But as you know Darren Aronofsky is a real artist and he's not interested in Gimmicks like,3D, CGI, filming digital, he wants to do everything as real (organic) as possible just like The Fountain”"

--- My Kate - Like I said above, this weekend just slipped between my fingers; if it had not I would have participated in today's celebration of Kate Winslet at The Film Experience. But I ran outta time. No time! Anyway go check what everyone else has to say on my favorite actress, I'm sure it will be positively scintillating.

Go see Daybreakers! Very good and very stylized - almost like Bladerunner. You can read my review here:

I'm still expecting Daybreakers to end up one of those cheap genre movies that come out every so often.
