I was trying to figure out who E.T.'s Gertie-sanctioned lady-outfit reminded me of just now and Carol Burnett's Miss Hannigan was my first thought. It might be the piece I read earlier this week on Annie at Electronic Cerebrectomy that conjured her up so quickly though. (For the record my second thought was of Gena Rowlands in Hope Floats, of all the godforsaken things to pop into my head. Random, random.)
And putting E.T. beside that lush Miss Hannigan is only serving to remind me of that weird ass scene where E.T. gets all wasted on beer while home alone and through his "bond" with Elliott makes the boy get all sloshed and horny at school.
